The main techniques i learnt when using photoshop from the process of constructing this product is how to adjust brightness and contrast, colour, gradient maps and how to use tools such as sharpen and blur to my advantage.
I used the brightness and contrast tool often as helped create the look of a professional magazine, simply by adjusting the shadows created.
I used the colour editing as my magazine is based around specific colours so to make the pictures fit in with the house style i changed the colours to match.
The use of gradient maps also helped me achieve this as they two were able to change the colours of images to match the house style.
Finally, i used the sharpen and blur tools, to make the main images look more professional and flawless, which i believe is a main convention of a glossy magazine.
I have also learnt to use the websites
www.blogger.com
and
www.flickr.com
I used flickr to upload images onto my blog.
I found both of these sites helpful, as they create a way in which you can annotate products easily. Having the work on a blog makes it easier to access from different places, such as at home. I don't think i would use them out of media as they are designed for blogging uses, which personally i dont use. However, in this specific context it has deffinately been easier than having to hand in paperwork, as mistakes are much more easily corrected.

Comment on Blogger and Flickr. Have you found them a help or a hindrance? In what ways? Can you see yourelf using Web 2.0 applications in other contexts aprart from media?
