What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Distributors take products from Publishers of magazines and sell them to wholesalers, who eventually sell the product to shops etc. Distributors collect money from the wholesalers and pay the publishers. However if products dont sell and are returned the distributor has to give wholesalers credit for the unsold copies. Most publishers need distributors to gain access to the newstrade as they ensure that your copies are put into outlets that sell competing magazines, remove the copies that are not being sold and put more into the places where copies are selling. Without distributors the magazine industry would not work in such a flowing manner.

My magazine is simular to the likes of 'Blender' and 'Vibe'. It is similar to both in the style of magazine as it is glossy, very posed and uses serious tones in the writing. However it differ's from both in the style of music it is show casing, as Blender appears to be based around pop music and RnB and Vibe also appears to based on the music genre RnB.
'Blender' is a branch of 'Maxim' magazine. Maxim is published by 'Dennis'

The company that would be best to distribute my magazine would be MarketForce an arm of IPC media as they are distributors for other music magazines and also glossy magazines. As my product is a mixture of the two, i believe MarketForce would be the most beneficial for the magazine. They are a mass production and distribute many magazines. They are also very successful, so would be the best option for my magazine. I believe they would publish the magaizne, as although it is similar to what they have previously published it is also different as it is a mixture of two different products.
